EMPD arrests four intruders

EMPD First Response and Anti-Land Invasion units members arrested four suspects on October 24 in the Palm Ridge area.

Officers responded to a complaint from City Of Ekurhuleni officials about four half-finished houses being broken into in Palm Ridge Extension 21 by the R550 road.

EMPD teams reacted and found three women and a man illegally occupying the newly built houses.

“The houses were not officially handed over to qualifying owners,” said Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD spokesperson.
“The EMPD officers will do interval patrols and monitor the affected area until the project is done and the official owners can move in.”

The suspects were taken to Eden Park SAPS and are facing charges of damage to property and encroaching.

The arrested foursome is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
