PHOTOS: Market Day to support local businesses

There was entertainment for the whole family, from face painting to live music from local artists.

The owners of the Newmarket Driving Range in Second Avenue, Kobus and Zelma van Staden hosted a Market Day on October 31.

The main reason behind the day was to support small business owners to grow their businesses and to encourage people to buy more goods locally.

“Covid-19 left many of us in difficult positions and this is just our way of not only creating a fun day for the whole family but to also show our support towards the community,” said Kobus and Zelma.

There was entertainment for the whole family, from face painting to live music from local artists. The couple is planning to continue their support towards small business owners.

“We are going to follow up with those who attended the event on Saturday to see if it is worth it to maybe have a Market Day once a month,” said Kobus.
