Stolen goods found hidden in Brackenhurst roof, seven arrested

The property was searched, and stolen goods were found hidden in the roof.

CPS Security, with Brackendowns SAPS and Brackendowns CPF, apprehended seven suspects in Prins Albert Street in Brackenhurst on November 16.

“Over the weekend, we reacted to a couple of housebreakings and thefts out of properties. A business owner then contacted us requesting assistance after they were broken into and several items were stolen,” said Tyrone van der Merwe, sales director from CPS Security.

Information was followed up on and a house raid was conducted. The property was searched, and stolen goods were found hidden in the roof. 

All seven suspects in the house were arrested.

“We also gave the stolen goods back to the victim,” said van der Merwe.

The suspects are being detained at Brackendowns SAPS and will appear in court soon.
“Thank you to everyone involved, especially Col van der Westhuizen.”

CPS Security urged residents to always report any type of theft or housebreakings to their local SAPS.
“Even if they stole something small, report it.”
