Reaction officers from CPS Security arrested a cable thief on November 25 on Voortrekker Road in New Redruth.
According to Tyrone van Merwe, sales operations, the suspect was spotted by officers while doing a routine patrol.
“They saw a suspicious-looking male digging, and that is when officers stopped to investigate and the suspect took off on foot,” said van der Merwe.
A few minutes later officers apprehended the suspect and it was established that he was stealing a cable.
He was handed over to Alberton SAPS.
