Southside Sterilisation Assistance Project end-of-year thank you

With a very tough year behind us, we would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and an awesome New Year.

On December 5 we had our last boerie/prego day for the year.

We were a bit worried at first with the weather but it held out for us. Our awesome supporters never disappoint us. You guys came out in the cold and wet weather ordered by the half dozen, the dozen and then some.

We sold out of pregos and almost sold out of boeries quickly. Thank you so much for always supporting our boerie days.

In the blink of an eye the year has come to an end.

Six months ago when we decided to start Southside Sterries, we had no idea how we were going to do it with a pandemic, lockdown and in one of the worst economic years, but we were determined and got ourselves going.
To date we have assisted with 154 sterilisations and with our first outreach and various rescues we have done 258 vaccinations.

All of which could not have been done without our supporters, you guys have astounded us with the donations we have received – from jumble to boerie to markets. Thanks to Brackenhurst vet, their staff (who give us endless support) and their most wonderful clients for always backing us.

Also to all the other rescuers out there keep fighting. We live in tough times with very little respect for animals in terms of the laws in our country. Don’t give up, they need us.

With a very tough year behind us, we would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and an awesome 2021. May what lies ahead for everyone be better than what’s left behind.

Whether you are emigrating, we wish you the best of adventures, whether looking for a job, we have you in our prayers, whether wanting to visit family, we pray the pandemic ends and they open the world up to all again. Stay safe, stay healthy.
