Stepping Stone is providing a palliative care course
The course is running over eight days and on the successful completion of the course. a certificate of completion will be issued.

The national healthcare system has introduced a 40-hour palliative care course and Stepping Stone Hospice has found more and more people, whether in their workplace or because of personal circumstances, now wanting to learn the skills around providing palliative care.
Stepping Stone Hospice is therefore hosting a 40-hour introduction to palliative care course in March.
The course is running over eight days and on the successful completion of the course, a certificate of completion will be issued.
Topics to be covered over the five days include:
• Principles of palliative care and palliative care and ethics, and end-of-life decision-making.
• Communication skills with the team and family.
• Pain assessment and management and other symptom management.
• Culture, spirituality, sexuality, care of the caregiver.
• Loss, grief and bereavement.
The cost to attend the course is R4 000 per person.
Stepping Stone Hospice & Care Services will host the course at 15 Heidelberg Road, corner Ascot Road, Newmarket Park.
The course will be through online webinar sessions on Tuesday and Thursday on March 16, 18, 23, 25, 30 and on April 1, 6, 8.
