Two people stabbed in Alberton attempted robbery

The victims were allegedly stabbed by two suspects dressed as construction workers.

Two people were stabbed in an attempted armed robbery by two suspects this Thursday morning, April 15.

“Information was received from a member of the public that an unknown male and female were stabbed after two men attempted to rob them of their belongings,” said Tyrone van der Merwe, sales director at CPS Security.

The victims were allegedly stabbed by two suspects dressed as construction workers.

“Both suspects were dressed as construction workers and ran towards a construction site behind Mall at Newmarket,” he said.

CPS tactical team managed to apprehend one suspect on Newquay Road in Florentia and the other suspect is still at large.

“Our Tactical team began to track the suspects from their last known location and resulted in one suspect being apprehended,” added Tyrone.

Alberton SAPS were contacted and a case has been opened.
