Local neighbourhood watch commits to sweeping crime off the streets

Eden Park residents have committed to sweeping crime off the streets by introducing Pas Op Neighbourhood Watch.

Pas Op Neighbourhood Watch has grown from strength to strength, and its mission is to curb crime in the Eden Park area.

The neighbourhood watch was motivated by a desperate need to put an end to crimes such as break-ins and theft from properties.

Run by 31 residents, it was established in 2018 with the sole purpose of creating a safe environment.

According to Dominicus Koopman of Pas Op Neighbourhood Watch, they aim to curb the continuous spate of crime in the area.

“We hold monthly meetings focusing on matters of importance about the security of our area and feedback from the members who patrol the streets. We are working with local SAPS and Stoneridge Primary School in ending crime in the area,” he said.

He also encouraged other parts of Eden Park to establish a neighbourhood watch of their own.

Should you be interested in joining the neighbourhood watch, or need more information, contact Koopman on 061 819 8722.
