WATCH: One person dies in Palm Ridge building collapse

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes.

One person was fatally injured in a building collapse on Teebos Avenue in Palm Ridge this Wednesday, June 23.

Emergency services responded to a collapse of a business in Palm Ridge. Upon their arrival, they combed the area for anyone trapped under the rubble.

According to William Ntladi spokesperson for Ekurhuleni Emergency Services, one person was found trapped under the rubble but did not respond to any attempts at treatment.

He was declared dead at the scene.

The scene has been handed over to SAPS for further investigation.

Teebos Avenue has been closed off around the scenes with motorists advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
