A male suspect has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle after he was found with a hijacked vehicle on August 3.
During their crime prevention patrol, members of Alberton SAPS noticed a suspicious-looking vehicle and stopped it and questioned the driver.
According to Capt Manare Ramotshela of Alberton SAPS, officers then discovered that the vehicle had been hijacked in Sandton earlier the same day.
“The driver was immediately arrested for possession of a suspected hijacked or stolen vehicle. Further investigations will be done to determine if the suspect is connected with the hijacking in Sandton.
“The suspect will soon appear in the local court,” he said.
Station commander Col Doctor Sibiya has applauded the members for their outstanding performance.
