Door-to-door awareness campaign highlights Women’s Month

Female officers from Eden Park SAPS, alongside other role players, embarked on a door-to-door campaign in Palm Ridge on August 19 to raise awareness regarding Women’s Month.

The campaign with Col Matshidiso Mbele, station manager of Eden Park SAPS, at its head took to the streets to tell women that there are people who care about their plight.

Raising awareness among the community.

The campaign sought to empower women to come to the police if they are victims of violence or domestic abuse.
“It is very important that women report these cases,” said Mbele.

The officers went from door to door to speak to residents.

“In many cases, women feel that when they come to the police station they won’t receive help, but we need to show them this is not the case and we can bring these perpetrators to book.”

The police took time to tell the community that they care.
