Teddy Bear Foundation receives heartfelt donation

Through NG Kerk Brackenhurst, Chantel Habib of Habibi Properties made a generous donation to Teddy Bear Foundation on September 10.

Dalene Bishop of the Teddy Bear Foundation was thrilled to receive a kind donation from Chantel Habib of Habibi Properties on September 10 in New Redruth.

The donation, which comprised of beautifully handmade teddy bears and beanies, was made possible by NG Kerk Brackenhurst.

Habib told the RECORD that she was excited to be part of this impactful drive.

“I’ve always been passionate about children. The Benti Lotz and the women from the NG Kerk started making teddy bears for us a while ago and we have been donating them wherever we could. Tim Denny approached me and said we could do more than what we are,” she said.

She then took it upon herself to spread the love by donating these bright teddy bears.

Bishop said these teddy bears will ensure children that they are loved and cared for.

“Each time a child comes into our services, they get given a teddy bear. These ladies who have knitted these teddy bears have demonstrated their love in a fantastic way. The Teddy Bear clinic doesn’t only provide teddies for the children, but we also provide counselling, forensic assessments and court preparations,” she said.

The Teddy Bear Foundation has been providing services to abused children for more than 35 years, and it is proud of its extremely high success rate.

Also present during the handover was Ward 106 committee member Tim Denny, who has been involved with the foundation for a while now. He is dedicated to assisting the foundation.
