Thieves cause serious accident

Two out of the three suspects fled the scene.

Three men who recently attempted to steal a vehicle in 7th Avenue in Alberton North caused a serious accident in 10th Avenue after skipping a stop street.

According to the sales director from CPS Security, their control centre was alerted to an attempted vehicle theft on 7th Avenue.

“The suspects were chased by a member of the public and the chase resulted in a serious car accident after the suspects skipped a stop sign and hit another vehicle. ”

One suspect was taken to hospital while the other two suspects fled on foot. The driver of the vehicle they hit sustained minor injuries.

Car breaking implements were found in the vehicle. All emergency services were on scene and a case was opened at Alberton SAPS.
