Karateka shine at national championship
The South African Shotokan Karate Academy held its national championships in Pretoria on September 25.
Cobras Shotokan Karate Club from Alberton were responsible for hosting the event, which was well attended by clubs from all over the province and the country.
Competition was extremely tough and divisions were closely contended, but all 36 students from the Cobras club did well and returned home with a total of 42 medals (16 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze).

Cobras Shotokan Karate club train at Ascot Mews, 19 Heidelberg Avenue, Newmarket, on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 17:30 to 18:30 for beginner classes and 18:30 to 19:30 for advanced classes.
