Alberton Lions Club members walk for a purpose

Another successful fund-raiser was hosted by the Alberton Lions Club.

On September 24, the Alberton Lions Club hosted a walk with the community, which it called Walk for a Purpose.

This walk aimed to collect donations for its Mommy Care Bags project that goes directly to the mothers and babies at the South Rand Hospital.

Each bag contains knitted clothing, a blanket, a knitted teddy bear, toiletries for mom and baby and PPE supplies.
This project has been going for over four years and the need has increased.

“The Alberton Lions reached out to the community for help and it responded. A big thank you to all those who supported this worthy cause, your donations are greatly appreciated and enable us to continue making a difference together,” said Tammy du Plooy, who is the Alberton Lions Club service chair.

People can also follow the club on its social media platforms and those interested to support or make any donations towards the club can contact Tammy on 082 371 7053.
