Model’s vision is to empower youth

Established model Valensia Waibale’s ultimate vision is to empower youngsters across Johannesburg South to become better versions of themselves.

Former Ms South Africa national second princess Valensia Waibale’s ultimate vision is to empower youngsters in the South of Johannesburg.

Photographic model Valensia, who has youth’s best interests at heart, aims to lure the young generation off the streets.

She intends to do this by teaching them about the modelling world and give life lessons that will enable them to become the best version of themselves.

In an exclusive interview, she revealed that circumstances cannot define a person’s future and that big dreams can also be achieved.

The fervent mother of two from Kenilworth has opened VW Models Academy and Grooming School where she wants to take four to 18-year-olds to another level of stardom.

“What I have noticed is that a lot of young people are very redundant and they don’t have many activities going around. I then decided to start something I’m passionate about and use my skills and abilities to empower young people,” she said.

Valensia describes herself as a motivational speaker, MC, entrepreneur, model, blogger, brand influencer, photographer, aspiring television presenter and actress.

She also labelled herself as an author in making, as she is currently writing her own book titled The Young Black Widow.

Modelling journey

Born and bred in Upington, a place that shaped her into becoming the woman she is today, her passion for modelling started at age five.

“I have always wanted to become a model from a tender age and nothing else. My mother would enter me in lots of beauty pageants and from there I grew myself. Life has taught me to keep my head up high for God has a plan,” said Valensia.

Having entered various beauty pageants and won numerous titles, she was prominently known as ‘Model of Pabalello’.

“In 2015 I was placed top 100 semi-finalists of the Mrs South Africa pageant and was crowned as Ms South Africa national second princess. To rise like a shining star I became Sarie Voorbladgesig Top 10 finalist, a memory I will forever cherish in my heart. I became a brand ambassador for Biomedical Emporium in 2017,” she said.

Her well-deserved accomplishments gained her fame. She was featured in numerous publications such as Get It magazine, Cover Girl, Born to Shine Magazine, SARIE and local publications.

“In the upcoming years, I see myself as a great entrepreneur because my goal and vision is to venture more into business. I don’t see myself working for someone for the rest of my life, I just see myself as a great businesswoman,” she said.
