Law enforcers joined hands and detained suspects during the Okae Molao operation conducted recently in New Market.
At least 21 suspects were arrested for different crimes and 52 traffic fines were issued, which amounted to R21 200.
Men and women in blue of Alberton SAPS and other police stations in the district were out in large numbers to combat crime in the streets of Alberton.

They were joined by members from the Gauteng Traffic Police, members from the EMPD, CPS Security and other law enforcement forces.
Capt Manare Ramotshela of Alberton SAPS said while they conducted a roadblock, some officers were locating suspects within the community.

“Searches were conducted and they went well. Suspects were fined or charged for their crimes. All the arrested suspects are expected to appear soon in their magistrate’s court to face their charges,” he said.
