Two firearms and seven rounds of live ammunition were recovered during an arrest made by Alberton SAPS on November 18.
On the day, while the officers were patrolling in the Alberton policing precinct, they responded to a crime scene.
According to Capt Manare Ramotshela of Alberton SAPS, the officers responded to a robbery that took place at a local business.
“The response security personnel attended the scene and suspects opened fire at the direction of the security personnel. The security personnel took cover and asked for backup. The three male adults were nabbed. The suspects were found to be in possession of two unlicensed firearms and seven ammunitions,” he said.

Ramotshela said the trio was charged with business robbery, attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearms.
The firearms were taken in to be checked if they were not used in connection to other criminal activities.
“The management is proud of the good work done by the officers. To all those who took part in making this possible, please keep it up, we are proud of you,” he said.
