WATCH: DA Alberton thanks its voters
After masses cast their votes on Election Day, Ward 106’s newly elected councillor Timothy Denny thanked the community and motorists on November 14.
Drivers were hooting as Ward 106 committee members took to the streets on November 14 to thank Alberton voters for having cast their votes on Election Day.
On behalf of DA-led wards in Alberton, newly elected Ward 106 councillor Timothy Denny and committee members thanked the community for actively casting their vote.
The group stationed itself at the intersection of Swartkoppies and Heidelberg roads in New Market with placards saying ‘thank you’ and ‘hoot for the DA’.

“We got the best votes in Alberton. It is phenomenal for a new face to come on the scene and still get a good turnout. This was a thank you from Ward 106 as well as the DA in Alberton to the community for having cast their votes. We took all the wards in Alberton,” said Denny.
He also told the RECORD his vision is to assist and ensure services are increased and that the community gets better service delivery.

“My vision is to increase communication and get our communication back. To also work on ground level with residents and increase services issues and assist officials in turnaround times with local issues. Our projects include finding and investigating a place of refuge for the homeless, the pollution in South Crest Spruit, rates policy and assisting the community with everyday issues,” he said.

Denny, chairing under his predecessor alderman Bruna Haipel, thanked the team that supported him throughout.
“Without this team, our percentage would have never been so high. Most of all, I thank our supporters for taking their time to come out in their numbers. We did exceptionally well in our numbers and aim to serve them best of how we can,” he said.
