SAPS cracks down on illegal alcohol sales

All the suspects were detained at Brackendowns SAPS.

Brackendowns SAPS Vispol officers, led by Lt-Col Attie Engelbrecht, joined forces with the Brackendowns CPF and AfriForum for a Vispol operation on January 8.

During the operation, premises illegally selling liquor was identified in the Thinasonke informal settlement.

The owner of the premises was arrested for selling liquor without a licence and all liquor on the premises was ceased. In total, just over 287 litres of liquor was ceased.

While officers were busy on the premises, a man and a woman assaulted a SAPS officer and were arrested.

All the suspects were detained at Brackendowns SAPS.
