Two arrested in Phantom Street

The suspects sprayed their victims with teargas during the robbery.

CPS Security arrested two men while on a routine patrol in Phantom Street in Raceview on January 15.

“While on patrol, one of our members spotted a suspicious-looking vehicle parked next to two children on their bicycles. Our reaction officers approached the vehicle and noticed the two children were being robbed by two men,” said Tyrone van der Merwe, sales director of CPS Security.

The suspects had sprayed the children with teargas during the robbery.

“Two suspects fled on foot and were apprehended by our members. The getaway vehicle escaped.”

Both suspects have been handed over to the Alberton SAPS.
