SAPS and APN visit Thinasonke

Members of Brackendowns SAPS recently joined hands with the Animal Protection Network (APN) to visit the Thinasonke informal settlement to feed the animals there.

People were engaged by the two organisations on animal-related crime, such as cruelty to animals, dog fighting and abuse, as well as the sterilisation of animals to avoid over breeding.

“The team was again welcomed with open arms,” said WO Gerhard Cornelius, spokesperson for Brackendowns SAPS.

“We even had a group of youngsters who tagged along to assist with handing out the food to the poor animals. It’s a great project that touches the very heart of our community.”
