Driver hijacked in New Redruth

Suspects escaped hijacking scene.

An employee from Dawn Wing was hijacked on February 23 while doing a delivery in St Michael Street in New Redruth.

According to Tyrone van der Merwe, sales director of CPS Security, the driver was approached by four armed men.

“The vehicle was hijacked and the employee was put in the back of the delivery van. The hijacked vehicle was driven down the road and items were offloaded into a getaway vehicle,” said van der Merwe.

The criminals got away in a silver Volkswagen Polo Vivo with no registration number.
