Alberton High learners support blood drive

SANBS visited Alberton High School to conduct its blood drive on March 9.

Learners of Alberton High School had an opportunity to join scores of people around the country in supporting SANBS on March 9.

SANBS visited the school to conduct a blood drive towards their mission of ensuring a safe and sufficient blood supply in the healthcare system.

The school donated 47 units of blood, and the first rugby team also banded together to donate towards this life-changing contribution.

The group of learners was given goodies before making their contribution.

Kian Minnie, a learner at the school, told the RECORD he was excited to be part of the many who helped make a difference.

“I decided to join and donate to make a difference in the lives of others. I know this blood donation will help the vulnerable and people who have been in accidents. This, for me, goes to show the importance of blood donation,” he said.
