Operation Vhuthu Hawe held in Albertsdal

Awareness campaign about theft and robberies of motor vehicles.

Members from Brackendowns SAPS Vispol joined forces with CPF and AfriForum to conduct Operation Vhuthu Hawe to clamp down on crime affecting communities on April 1.
A vehicle-control point (VCP) was held in Eekhoring Street in Albertsdal, where the focus was on vehicle-related crimes, substance abuse, possession of an illegal firearm and driving under the influence.
“While the VCP was held, the two entrances and exit points were monitored by our partners,” said WO Gerhard Cornelius from Brackendowns SAPS.
Awareness pamphlets on the VCP, especially on theft and robberies of motor vehicles, were also handed out to create more awareness.
“We have to stand together against crime.”
The Brackendowns SAPS station commander, Col Munaf Ismail, thanked everyone involved for once again coming together in the fight against crime.
