Reuven Retirement Village residents enjoy great treatment from the church
Sheriff June Thomas and Full Gospel Church have been working together doing charitable work in the South.
Full Gospel Church and Sheriff June Thomas’ staff spoiled the senior citizens with manicures, pedicures, massages and food on June 11.
There was excitement as the residents enjoyed the visit from the church and sheriff. Caroline Ngoasheng, the chairperson at Reuven Retirement Village, appreciated the gesture on behalf of the residents.
June 10 was World Sheriff’s Day. This is a service to humanity as the way Mandela was because World Sheriff’s Day has to do with free service and acts of good deeds.
Thomas from the Johannesburg South Office and Germiston North decided to collaborate with the Women of Destiny from the Full Gospel Church of God Johannesburg South to do manicures and pedicures on senior citizens at Reuven Old Age Home in West Turffontein on June 11.
Staff from the sheriff’s office and women from the Full Gospel Church came out in their numbers to spoil the senior citizens. The event ended with the provision of lunch.
“This good gesture comes from the understanding that these senior citizens are to be perceived as our own parents and therefore we need to honour them accordingly. We are thankful for the opportunity to make a difference in our community. The senior citizens were so overwhelmed,” said Pastor Jack Chirwa.
