Vocalists excel in Eisteddfod competition

Four exceptional local young vocalists have made a name for themselves after excelling in the Alberton Eisteddfod competition.

Learners belonging to the Ida Strydom Singing Studio outshined themselves at the Alberton and Con Spirito Eisteddfod recently.

Kesia Katzke (Grade Three) and Miley Sharp (Grade Six), walked away with the first and second prizes in the vocal section of the eisteddfod for primary schools. Both learners are at Laerskool Orion.

Not only did Miley receive the first prize, but she is also a national item winner of the Con Spirito Forte National Eisteddfod.

Vasti-Anne Graetz, a Grade Nine learner at Waterstone College, was the overall winner of the high school section. She is also a national item winner of the Con Spirito Forte National Eisteddfod.

She was the overall winner of the All Stars Cantare Talent competition and received a distinction of 87% for her trinity singing exams in 2021.

Simnikiwe Ndlovu, a Grade 11 learner at Bracken High School, received second prize in the vocal section for high schools. She also received excellent results, 95% for her Grade V Trinity singing exams at the end of 2021.
