Brackendowns SAPS supports the Amcare fundraiser
SAPS educate the community about Gender-Based Violence.
VISPOL members from Brackendowns SAPS, EMPD members and residents recently joined hands to support an Amcare fundraiser at the Amcare office.
The initiative was not only to raise funds but also to bring awareness to the surrounding communities on GBV.
Amcare is a multi-purpose health and social development organisation servicing the poor and vulnerable.
“They assist with female victims of crime and house these victims with their kids when necessary,” said Warrant Officer Gerhard Cornelius, the spokesperson of Brackendowns SAPS.
The crowd took to the streets in a fun walk and engaged with the community along the way.
“This was an amazing opportunity for SAPS to be able to take hands with their partners once again, to bring comfort to our community that we are fighting the good fight against crime and we surely are not alone,” said Cornelius.
