WATCH: Promoting prostate cancer awareness in Ward 23
A PinkDrive was held at the Glenanda Clinic for men.
The Glenanda Clinic recently hosted a PinkDrive for men and donated 50 prostate and testicular cancer tests.
Health and social development committee member Lynette Meyer thanked the Glenanda Clinic for welcoming this first men’s initiative and PinkDrive for their unwavering support of the residents.
Many residents responded enthusiastically to support the day. Meyer said men drove from as far as Midrand for the testing.
Results were given immediately and sighs of relief were heard throughout the room.
“Thank you to Mandisa Nokwali, health promoter at Glenanda Clinic, and her staff for making the day festive for the residents,” she said.
On October 31, the Glenanda Clinic will host its next PinkDrive, which is open to both men and women. It will feature mammograms, cervical smears, and prostate/testicular screenings.
