Meredale resident competes in Mrs Soweto 2023 pageant

The Mrs Soweto 2023 finalist shares the positive impact the pageant has on her.

Thandiwe Mokhoma (38) from Meredale, Johannesburg South, is a fashion designer, the owner of J. Mo House of Fashion, a marketing manager and administrator for the KM Electrical group, and a wife and proud mother of two.

Before relocating to Johannesburg, she began modelling when young in her hometown, North West.

“At a certain age after getting married and having children, I put my modelling career on hold. This year, I came across the Mrs Soweto programme and decided to enter the pageant because it was a great opportunity to empower myself and positively impact communities,” said Mokhoma.

Mokhoma is one of 21 top finalists in the pageant.

“Being on this journey requires me to do community projects, find sponsors and make a difference in disadvantaged communities,” explained Mokhoma.

The Mrs Soweto pageant programme has helped Mokhoma regain her strength and confidence.

“It is amazing to see there are women who have not given up on their dreams and thrive in business, in motherhood and in their communities. Every time we meet, I feel empowered and I appreciate myself more,” said the beauty.

To vote for Thandiwe, SMS SOWETO MRS07 to 47439. SMS costs R3 per vote. Voting is open till August 11 and unlimited votes are allowed.
