Sanitary pads for Kibler Park Secondary School

Two companies team up to donate 220 Dignity Dreams washable sanitary pads to Kibler Park Secondary School.

In honour of Nelson Mandela, Renault SA and Group 1 Nissan The Glen spent 67 minutes at Kibler Park Secondary School on July 18 and transformed the lives of 220 girls by distributing washable sanitary products from Dignity Dreams.

Earlier this year Group 1 Nissan The Glen donated 100 dignity bags to the girls at the local school.

Renault SA wanted to contribute to this crucial effort to keep girls in school. To make sure they could reach more schoolgirls, they doubled the pledge and matched it. 10X Investments also came on board to ensure that every girl in the school received a dignity bag.

Dignity Dreams washable, eco-friendly sanitary pads are SABS absorbency tested and can absorb up to 15ml of liquid. The washable pads are a completely sustainable solution to a monthly challenge and are becoming increasingly important in the green economy.

One Dignity Dreams washable pad equates to 144 disposable pads over 48 months. With proper care, Dignity Dreams pads will last for approximately four years.

Mcebo Langa, corporate social investment activations junior brand manager for Renault SA, said: “It is one of the primary goals of our CSI programs to promote social change through education, and this is in line with our core focus by keeping a girl child in school.”
