AACL Johannesburg primary school poster and poetry competition open
All Gauteng primary school learners are reminded to enter the competition
The countdown has begun for the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) Johannesburg’s annual school poster and poetry competition.
Primary school learners are encouraged to enter to show their support for the welfare of animals.
Categories and prizes:
Category one art: Grades One and Two (first place R2 000)
Category two art: Grades Three, Four and Five (first place R2 000)
Category three art: Grades Six and Seven (first place R2 000)
Category four poetry: Grades Five, Six and Seven (merit prize)
Stand a chance to win a Roland STIKA from Telpro for your school. There are many more merit prizes from Roland, Animaltalk Magazine, Gold Reef City Theme Park, Acrobranch, Cartoon Candy, Lillian Gray Art School, Lifestyle Pet Hyper, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Facades Hair Design and Bulldog Carwash Express.
Start by creating a picture or poem showing your care for animals. Tell a story of kindness, gentleness, and compassion towards animals and how we can positively impact their lives. Don’t forget to add a catchy slogan or title to amplify your message.
Poster requirements:
You can use any materials, such as paint or pencils, on A2, A3 or A4 paper. It must not be framed or folded. Be as creative as possible, keep your poster bold, striking, and original and have fun.
Poem requirements:
Your poem can be in any style and any of the 11 official languages, but make sure it’s no longer than 16 lines.
Remember that copyright laws apply, so make sure it’s your own work.
Also, clearly print on picture/poem: Your name, surname, age, grade and each category you enter (1/2/3/4), your school’s name and your parent(s) or the school’s telephone number.
You can enter a maximum of two pictures and/or two poems.
