This event, which will begin at 10:00, promises a day full of enjoyment, connections and giving in support of JSB’s invaluable mission of enabling blind and visually impaired people to lead fulfilling lives.
About JSB
Established in 1926, JSB has been a beacon of hope for blind and partially sighted individuals, irrespective of gender, race, ethnicity or religious affiliation.
Initially founded to aid civilians who lost their sight during World War I, JSB provided accommodation, employment opportunities, rehabilitation, and crucial skills in daily living, orientation, and mobility. Over the decades, JSB has evolved and strengthened its mandate to focus on capacity-building among the visually impaired, enabling them to actively participate in the development of South Africa.
To ensure transparency and effectiveness, JSB maintains a well-structured governance framework, including a dedicated board of directors, a diligent management committee, a residents committee, a workers committee, and a student representative council.
At the heart of this fundraising initiative lies JSB’s unwavering commitment to sustaining the essential work undertaken for the visually impaired community. With the support and participation of individuals like you, JSB aims to raise crucial funds that will ensure the continued success of its programs and services.
