Locals reign supreme in Ringtennis World Champs

Players from the Alberton Ringtennis Club were selected to be part of the South African Ringtennis Protea teams and have reigned supreme.

The SA Ringtennis Protea team management has congratulated all players and teams that recently took part in the fifth Ringtennis World Championships held in Pretoria.

Playing for senior women, Melicia Fourie came third in singles and Martine de Bruin came first in singles for the U23 women category.

In senior men playing men’s doubles, Stefan Grieb and Theunis de Bruin came first place, while Breyton Herbst and Marnu Claase also came first in men’s doubles for the U23s.

In seniors’ test matches, Germany came first, while South Africa came second, followed by India in third place. For the U23s, India came first, Germany second and South Africa third place.

The next world championships will be held in 2027.
