WATCH: Boy takes own life amid bullying allegations at primary school in Thokoza

MEC Matome Chiloane will launch an independent investigation into the death of Sibusiso Mbatha.

Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane will launch an independent investigation into the death of a Grade Six learner, Sibusiso Mbatha (12), from Khehlekile Primary School.

Mbatha allegedly took his own life on October 23 because of bullying accusations said to involve a teacher at the Thokoza school.

Chiloane visited the grieving family on October 26 and confirmed that an independent law firm would be appointed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.

He also said they would provide further psycho-social support to the school and the family.
