WATCH: Eden Park Boxing Club fighters spent their festive season preparing for big matches

A boxer at the club is set to compete in Namibia this coming June.

While most were celebrating and enjoying the December holidays, fighters at the Eden Park Boxing Club spent their time training. These boxers are set to compete in fight tournaments starting as early as February 2.

“Eden Park Boxing Club fighters are getting ready for a tough year ahead,” said club chairperson Sydney Kok.

“In June, Ruwayden Olifant will represent South Africa at the Zone 6 Youth Games in Namibia. Coach Darryl Carl and I have been working hard during the festive season preparing Olifant and other boxers for big fight tournaments planned for 2025,” added Kok.

The club is actively looking for more young people to join the club and get trained. Training for boys and girls is held for those as young as eight.

It takes place Monday to Thursday from 16:30 to 18:30. A Box and Dine tournament will also be held at the Eden Park Boxing Club in March with the date yet to be announced.
