Recovery Foundation to host fundraiser in Mulbarton

Residents are encouraged to attend the special fundraising event as the foundation continues its work and plans to introduce a nationwide support helpline.

The Recovery Foundation has announced that it will host a special fundraising event in partnership with A.I Fest on Saturday, March 7. The event will be held at 87 True North Road, Mulbarton, from 11:00 to 18:00.

The fundraiser aims to support the Foundation’s ongoing work in helping individuals and families affected by addiction and related challenges.

Community members, businesses and supporters are encouraged to attend and show their support for this important cause.

The event forms part of A.I. Fest, a constructed-format tournament featuring Swiss Rounds (Best-of-One) followed by Single Elimination Top Cut Finals to the Top 4 players. Registration opens at 10:30 and games begin at 11:00.

The preregistration entry fee is R350 per person, while on-the-day entry will cost R420 per person. R50 from each entry fee will be donated directly to the Recovery Foundation.

Preregistration is strongly recommended and closes on Thursday, March 5. Walk-ins will be allowed only if space is available.

A minimum of six preregistered players is required for the event to take place.

Exciting prizes are up for grabs. First place will receive an Extra Booster – Heroines Edition (EB03) Booster Box, provided that at least 16 players enter.

Second place will receive six EB03 boosters, while third and fourth place will each receive three EB03 boosters.

Players placing second and below will also receive one Azure Sea’s Seven (OP14) booster each. Additional prizes may be added depending on attendance.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase on the day, including Pastéis de Nata, Pregos, snacks and cold drinks.

Organisers say the event will give the community an opportunity to come together, learn more about the Foundation’s services and contribute towards expanding its programmes.

In addition, the Recovery Foundation has confirmed that it will soon launch a national helpline. The helpline will offer confidential support, guidance, and information to people across the country seeking help.

Members of the public who would like to support the Recovery Foundation are encouraged to attend and take part in making a positive difference in the community.
