All three were treated on scene by Gauteng Emergency Medical Services before being transported to Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital for further medical care.

Law enforcement, including EMPD, attended the scene and has launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. A culpable homicide case will be registered.

The bodies of the deceased were handed over to Gauteng Forensic Pathology Services for further processing.

MacDonald urged motorists to exercise caution, particularly during early morning hours when visibility is reduced and fatigue can impair driving.

The City of Ekurhuleni has extended its condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives.
