Bracken High and Alberton High go “neck and neck” in derby day showdown

Bracken High praises hosts after memorable, highly contested matches.

Bracken High School and Alberton High School faced off in a full-day sports derby at Alberton High, with both schools delivering highly contested matches across multiple sports codes.

The traditional derby saw the Reds and the Blues competing in rugby, netball, badminton, and tennis.

Fixtures ran throughout the day on Alberton High’s fields and courts, drawing strong support from learners, parents, and staff on both sides.

Bracken High sports coordinator, Mr Msiza, thanked their hosts.

Players from both schools were praised for their sportsmanship and competitive spirit, with several matches decided by narrow margins.

Coaches noted the level of play across rugby, netball, badminton, and tennis made for a memorable day of school sport and strengthened the rivalry in a positive way.

Both schools look forward to the next meeting between the Red and the Blues.
