Corporate South Africa Invited to Take a Stand at #HOLLER 2026

An Evening of Courageous Conversations, Meaningful Action and Lasting Change

Johannesburg, South Africa – Mall of the South is calling on Corporate South Africa to be part of a powerful movement for change by securing a table at #HOLLER 2026, its flagship social impact gala dedicated to addressing the root causes of gender-based violence and building safer communities.

Taking place on 7 August 2026 at Thaba Eco Hotel, Johannesburg, the prestigious evening will bring together business leaders, decision-makers, psychologists, behavioural experts, men’s advocates, survivors, government representatives and community organisations for an engaging discussion centered on the theme:

“Awareness to Action. Hurt to Healing.”

Now in its sixth year, #HOLLER has become a recognised platform for raising awareness around gender-based violence, domestic abuse, human trafficking and other forms of violence. While supporting survivors remains central to the initiative, HOLLER 2026 marks an important evolution in the conversation by asking a critical question:

If we truly want to end violence, should we not spend more time understanding and addressing what creates it?

For years, South Africans have marched, protested, raised awareness, donated and stood in solidarity with victims and survivors. Yet the statistics continue to highlight the devastating impact violence has on individuals, families and communities.

This year, #HOLLER 2026 seeks to move beyond awareness and explore practical solutions aimed at prevention. Research and crime statistics consistently show that the vast majority of perpetrators of gender-based violence are men. While the overwhelming majority of men are not violent, lasting change requires meaningful engagement with men and boys through honest conversations around trauma, emotional wellbeing, accountability, healthy relationships and positive masculinity.

Rather than placing blame, #HOLLER 2026 seeks to create understanding. Rather than pointing fingers, it seeks to build solutions. And rather than waiting until lives have already been shattered, it asks how South Africa can better prevent violence before another victim is created.

“Supporting survivors will always remain at the heart of #HOLLER. But if we are serious about changing the future, we must also be courageous enough to engage the people who have the greatest influence on changing it. This is not about blaming men; it is about empowering more men to become part of the solution. We believe prevention begins long before violence does,” says Hester Smith, Centre Manager of Mall of the South.

The evening will feature keynote speakers, expert panel discussions, lived experiences and practical strategies designed to inspire collaboration across business, government and civil society.

With more than 300 business leaders, professionals, community advocates and change-makers expected to attend, #HOLLER 2026 presents organisations with a meaningful opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to social responsibility while participating in one of the country’s most important conversations.

When we help a survivor, we change one life. When we prevent violence from happening in the first place, we change generations.

The future of South Africa depends not only on protecting women and children, but also on raising boys who become men of empathy, accountability, respect and courage. Ending gender-based violence is not only a women’s issue. It is a societal responsibility, and men have a critical role to play in leading that change.
