Barking dogs lead to suspect’s arrest

A man was arrested in early hours of Tuesday after being chased by CPS Security for attempted house breaking on November 30.

Alberton’s CPS Security arrested a suspect for attempted house burglary, at Troru Road, New Redruth, on November 30.

According to the director of CPS Security, Tyrone van der Merwe, their control room received a call from one of their clients.

Tyrone said that according to the client, the dogs were barking in the early hours of the morning.

“The client spotted an unknown male on their premises and requested our assistance. A quick response from our reaction officer led to a successful arrest after the suspect attempted to run away after our reaction vehicle had spotted him,” said Tyrone.

Alberton SAPS was contacted, they arrested the suspect and a case was opened.
