SAPS K9 Unit nabs men for unlicensed firearm in South Crest
Alberton SAPS station commander Colonel Kelehile Letloenyane has welcomed and applauded the officers for a job well done.
Members of Johannesburg SAPS K9 Unit, who were patrolling in the South Crest area, detained two men in December.
This is after the officers noticed some suspicious activity. Upon being interrogated by the officers, they were found to be in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
“The suspects were firstly informed of their constitutional rights and were further informed of their arrest. As we speak, the suspects are in police custody and will be taken to the local court of law as soon as the police docket is ready for prosecution,” explained Captain Manare Ramotshela of Alberton SAPS.
