Three suspects arrested for Vaal house robbery in Alberton

Three suspects to to face criminal charges for a house breaking that happened in Vaal.

Three suspects were arrested in Ring Road, Alberton, for a house robbery in Vaal Triangle on January 11.

According to the director of CPS Security, Tyrone van der Merwe, they received information that goods stolen from a house robbery in the Vaal area were making their way to Alberton.

With the assistance of EMPD, a stop and search of the suspect’s vehicle was carried out.

“The vehicle and occupants were searched. Gold jewellery, rings, watches, Mandrax and a large amount of Euros were discovered. One firearm was also found inside the vehicle,” said van der Merwe.

The suspects were taken to Alberton SAPS, where a case of suspected theft of goods and possession of an unlicensed firearm was opened.

“I’d like to thank the EMPD officers for their prompt help, which resulted in a successful arrest,” said Van der Merwe.
