Alberton SAPS condemns mob justice

Alberton SAPS appeals to community members to stop taking the law into their own hands following the death of one victim at one of their policing precincts.

Members of Alberton SAPS were patrolling in Rondebult and were informed of mob justice, which was happening at the time on January 16.

Upon arrival at the scene, the officers found a crowd surrounding three males who were critically injured with multiple injuries all over their bodies.

One male was declared dead on scene by paramedics. He had six gunshot wounds, while the other two were rushed to hospital by ambulance.

“The motive for the attack is unknown as the community remained silent and no further information is brought forward and as a result, no arrests were made as yet. Anyone with any information that can lead to the arrest of these heartless suspects must come forward. No one is allowed to take the law into their hands,” said Captain Manare Ramotshela of Alberton SAPS.

As police, he said they always advise the community to report any criminal activity taking place in their areas.
