Suspects escape after shootout in Brackendowns

During a recent morning routine patrol, Fox Security’s Tactical Unit identified a vehicle used for beam theft across Alberton and South Johannesburg.

Upon following the vehicle, a high-speed chase unfolded, leading to the suspects opening fire on the Fox Security officer.

“In an act of self-defence, our officer returned fire, causing the suspects’ vehicle to lose control and crash on JG Strijdom Road. The perpetrators managed to escape into the veld,” said Francois Jansen, operations director of Fox Security.

Despite the escape, one vehicle was successfully recovered and handed over to Brackendowns SAPS.
