Hitzerhoth murder case continues

The case continues for Bianca Jackson and Shaun Walter Beaton in the Gert Hitzeroth murder case, despite the defence's pleas for dismissal.

Bianca Jackson and Shaun Walter Beaton, suspected of being involved in the killing of Gert Hitzeroth (54), were in court again on April 17.

On May 19, 2018, around 11:40, Brackendowns SAPS were called to Mayberry Park, where they found Hitzeroth’s body under a blanket with blood on it. The police arrested Beaton on May 20, and Jackson on May 28, 2018.

Beaton, charged with murder, allegedly caused Hitzeroth’s death by assaulting him with a baseball bat and subsequently drowning him in a pool. He pleaded not guilty.

Jackson stands accused of obstructing justice by concealing the murder weapon and cleaning the victim’s blood from the scene. She pleaded not guilty to this charge.

Additionally, she faced a charge of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm as an accessory, which was dropped on April 17 because there was insufficient evidence.

During the court proceedings, the lawyer for both the accused requested the court to drop the case because it had not enough evidence. But the State disagreed, and the magistrate ruled there was enough evidence to continue the case.

Jackson and Beaton will have to testify and be cross-examined at the next court dates of June 10 and June 12.
