CPS Security’s proactive crackdown nets multiple criminals in community safety drive

In a recent surge of community safety initiatives, CPS Security has successfully apprehended several suspects linked to theft, fraud, and vandalism. This two-week operation highlights the importance of vigilance and collaboration in keeping neighbourhoods secure.

In a remarkable display of community safety efforts, CPS Security forces have apprehended several individuals linked to various criminal activities over the past two weeks.

This proactive crackdown, which includes arrests for theft, fraud and vandalism, underscores a renewed commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.

Alleged card scammer arrested

A CPF member spotted a group of men acting suspiciously at a shopping centre near an ATM.


Car registration plates were found in the card scammer.

The men proceeded to exit the centre’s parking area in a Grey Toyota with no number plates.

CPS team together with Fox Security assisted in stopping the vehicle.

The vehicle was searched by the EMPD Community Liaison Unit and a card machine was found hidden inside the dashboard of the vehicle.

The driver was arrested as the vehicle was fitted with a false registration plate.

The original number plates were found inside the vehicle which belongs to a car rental company.

The suspect has been detained at Brackendowns SAPS.

House break-in suspect apprehended

After a garden service hired a temporary employee to help out for the day, a house was broken into and jewellery and other valuables were stolen.


The man was arrested for house burglary.

The physical address of the suspect was provided to the CPS team and the suspect was traced to Phumula and arrested.

Brackendowns SAPS was contacted and the man was handed over.

Residents are advised by CPS Security to make sure that, before allowing anyone to start working at their home or company, they should provide a copy of their identification. If a crime is committed, this enables authorities to track down the individual.

A shop was broken into, and a variety of products were taken.

An informant provided the CPS team with information about the break-in.

The suspect was located at an informal settlement on Alberton North’s 2nd Avenue.

Some of the items were discovered in the room of one suspect, who was taken into custody.

The valuables were returned to their rightful owner, and the suspect was turned in to Alberton SAPS.

Attempted break-in suspect arrested

A panic signal was received from a client after they noticed an unknown male lifting their main gate to gain entry.


The suspect was arrested for attempted break-in.

CPS Security reaction units responded to the panic signal and noticed a man running away from the property on their arrival. The suspect was stopped and brought back to the premises.

Alberton SAPS was contacted and the suspect was taken into custody.

Suspects arrested for business break-in

A business premises located on Van Riebeeck Avenue was broken into.

The CPS Security team received information from an informant that the stolen goods were being stored at an informal settlement on 2nd Ave.

CPS together with Alberton SAPS, followed up the information which led to three arrests after stolen goods were found in their possession.

Some of the stolen goods were sold to a local pawn shop.

The owner was also arrested and more stolen goods were recovered.

Suspect arrested in New Redruth

CPS Security officers guarding an establishment requested assistance after a suspect was spotted trespassing on site.

Multiple reaction units were dispatched which resulted in a positive arrest.

The suspect had cut a fence on the perimeter to gain entry.

Suspect arrested for cable theft

CPS Security officers requested backup after they noticed two men attempting to steal electrical cable at a business premises.


The cable theft suspect was arrested in Alrode.

Reaction units were dispatched to the address.

CPS reaction officers managed to apprehend one of the two suspects.

Brackendowns SAPS was contacted and the suspects were handed over.

Authorities are urging the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, highlighting the importance of collaboration in maintaining a secure environment.
