Kliprivier SAPS issues warning as house robberies rise in Sky City

Police urge residents to secure their homes early and stay alert following a spike in robberies during evening hours.

Kliprivier SAPS has raised concerns over a series of house robberies reported in the Sky City area, with incidents mainly occurring during the early evening.

Authorities have confirmed that investigations are ongoing but noted that certain details cannot be made public at this stage due to the sensitive nature of the cases.

Kliprivier SAPS is working closely with private security companies, neighbourhood watch groups and the Community Policing Forum to strengthen visibility in the area and pursue leads linked to the crimes.

Station commander Lieutenant Colonel LJ Mofokeng expressed confidence in the team handling the investigations and called on residents to remain cautious while efforts continue to track down those responsible.

Residents are encouraged to take proactive safety measures, including locking gates, doors and windows before sunset and adopting an ‘early lockdown’ routine instead of waiting until late at night.

Community members are also urged to report any suspicious behaviour immediately to their security providers or local authorities.

Anyone with information or in need of assistance may contact the station commander on 082 778 7898 or the Community Service Centre on 071 675 7297.
