EMPD recovers reportedly hijacked bakkie, arrests 2 suspects in Alberton
EMPD officers, working with a private tracking company, recovered a reportedly hijacked Nissan NP200 in Albermarle and arrested two suspects.
The EMPD, working alongside a private tracking company, recovered a reportedly hijacked Nissan NP200 and arrested two suspects in the Alberton area.
According to EMPD spokesperson Chief Superintendent Kelebogile Thepa, officers of the Community Liaison Unit acted on intelligence regarding a white Nissan NP200 that had reportedly been hijacked in Alberton.
Using tracking coordinates, officers located the vehicle on Lennox Road in Albermarle, where two male suspects were allegedly found inside.
The Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC) was called to the scene to process the vehicle, which was later towed to the Aeroton police pound for further investigation.
The two suspects were arrested and detained at Alberton SAPS.
They are expected to appear before the relevant magistrate’s court.
