Special Operations Group Security has praised the swift actions of its control room and armed response officers following the arrest of two suspects allegedly involved in a series of rooftop business break-ins in Alberton.

According to SOG Security, the incident occurred in the early hours on July 26 when suspicious activity was detected at a business premises in New Redruth.

Response officers were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they secured the premises and found suspects allegedly operating from the roof of the building.

Following a coordinated search of the property, two suspects were apprehended. Officers also recovered a quantity of stolen CCTV equipment, which was secured as evidence.

Preliminary investigations have linked the suspects to multiple business break-ins in the Alberton North area.

Their alleged method of operation involved gaining access to commercial properties through the roofs before stealing valuable equipment.

The suspects were handed over to Alberton SAPS for further investigation and processing.

SOG Security commended its control room, armed response officers and all members involved in the operation, saying the successful arrests demonstrate the value of vigilance, teamwork and a rapid response in combating crime and helping to keep the community safe.
